Say Cheese!

Nice to meet ya!

I’ve come to realize that I failed to give a proper introduction of myself in my first blog post. With that being said, here goes nothing. I am that one girl who is almost always grinning from ear to ear. Corny jokes are my cup of tea and I tend to go with the flow in life. I consider myself as a person who balances respect and sass exceptionally well. In case you were wondering, my favorite color is periwinkle and my favorite food is cotton candy flavored anything. People absolutely FASCINATE me and are by far my favorite part about this world we live in. I adore laughter, friendship, and authenticity.

Now that we know each other a little a better…

Let me let you in on a little secret. December 18, 2018 is a day that caught me by surprise and truly rocked my world. From the moment I was thoroughly confused by a seemingly personalized holiday video starring me and sent from Eli Reynolds (a fellow CRer,) to approximately thirty seconds afterwards as my phone displayed Dr.P in a Santa Hat and I pieced together what was actually happening, I don’t think I ever stopped smiling.

Fun fact: I was home alone when I got the news, so I may or may not have ran a couple of victory laps around my living room accompanied by a few squeals of joy and a stray happy tear or two.

As I frantically dialed Dr.P’s number to accept my spot, I instantly remembered that I now had to get my mom on board. Let’s just say she wasn’t the most eager to let her first born daughter travel abroad for the first time ever (and nearly a month at that) without her right by my side. But as you can see, I somehow managed to get her excited about my upcoming adventures–and let me tell you, it wasn’t easy.

In less than a week I will be taking my first steps in a country different from the one I call my own. There are a whirlwind of emotions running through my mind at the thought of this; however, the most distinct of them all is utter excitement. Throughout the duration of this experience, my desire is to see life through a different lens than the one I’ve been accustomed to. I hope to encounter roadblocks and stumble upon beautiful realizations along the way. Most importantly, I am striving to better myself and those around me in ways I’m not even sure of at this exact moment. As Eckhart Tolle once said,

“If you get the inside right, the outside will fall into place.”

Take it easy,
