On a Bus from Nashville

Welcome to my second blog post! It’s weird to be writing this in The ‘Ville, OK knowing that the next one I write will be written in Germany. Hopefully I will have improved my blogger skills a little more by then. Pretty sure I’m going to be a pro by the end of this thing.

Anyway, I received my CR acceptance just like all the rest of you: on a bus coming home from a fraternity formal in Nashville, TN with my high school ex-boyfriend. Well, maybe that’s not exactly how everyone else’s went… but just like a lot of the rest of the CRamily, it was a welcome surprise in the most unexpected of places.

A girl in my sorority (a CR alumni) had texted me about doing some recruitment work over the summer, so naturally I didn’t reply in hopes that she would text me again letting me know that someone else had already taken the job (I prefer to spend my summers responsibility-free). The next message I got, however, was much different. Watching that video of Dr. P dressed as Classy Santa (The Office season 7, episodes 11/12) turned my initial confusion into excitement. Unfortunately I was a few hours late in contacting Dr. P (we don’t have to talk about that here), but we made it. Two days away from probably what is going to be one of the best months of my life.

My goal for this trip is to be present. I want to spend as little time as possible being on my phone and as much time as possible being there, in person, with the people and things around me. I feel the need to take pictures of all the cool things I see when I go on vacation so that I don’t forget my experiences. But the burden I put on myself of taking good pictures of every single thing I see takes away from the experience itself. So keeping with the “all in” theme, my goal for this CR11 is to keep that motto in mind every day, and to have accountability alongside my peers. I can’t wait to soak up as much CR as I possibly can!!!

Deuces, see y’all in 2. 😳
